Hampshire County Councils ' Buy With Confidence ' scheme brings together a list of tradesmen and service businesses which have all been checked for trustworthiness and compliance with consumer protection laws. Trading Standards Officers visit and vet every applicant and only if they pass the stringent checks are they accepted.
The ' Buy With Confidence ' scheme was launched in 1999 by Hampshire County Council and has been so successful that it has grown to include 20 other Trading Standards Services with over 150 trade categories. The National Association of Wheeled Bin Washers association was established to try to both police the industry to eliminate "cowboy" operators and act as a spokesman for the industry within the cleaning industry. This they do as members of the British Cleaning Council. To be a member of this association we had to show our strict environmental policies and prove that we comply with all Environment Agency, Government, Local Authority and water providers guidelines and legalities.
